                                                                     9. Robbery Solution

Mr.Sameer was on his way to the police station to lodge a compliant about the recent theft happened in his house. When he went there, he saw Inspector Vikram and told him about the theft in detail.
''I went to my native for one week. I didn't tell this to anyone except my friend Rajesh. When I came back I came to know that my house was robbed. My laptop which contained all my office works were stolen, my two signed cheque leaves which were kept for purchasing a new sofa was stolen and my watch was stolen. I wondered that how a thief would know that I will be out of station on those particular days, when I didn't tell it to anyone except my friend. Even Rajesh would have not told it to anyone.'' said Sameer.
The inspector asked '' How could you sign a cheque leaf before using it ?''

''Yeah, but I had ordered the sofa and it was to come the day after the next day and since I would forget about it, I signed it earlier. The next day that is on 15th July, I was informed that my uncle was ill and I have to go immediately to see him. So I booked a ticket for that night and I reached there on 16th morning'' said Mr.Sameer.
Inspector Vikram asked me '' When and where did you tell Rajesh that you are going to your native place? ''
Sameer said '' I told him on 15th evening when we were in the park while we were walking ''

Vikram told him that he will do further investigation and inform him later. Sameer went home and told his friend Rajesh about the robbery and asked him whether he had told anyone that he will not be in his house  in that week. Rajesh was surprised and told ''Sameer,I did not tell anyone and I am very shocked to hear this news. Anyway, lets hope for the best. ".After sometime, the Inspector  called Mr.Sameer and asked '' In which park did you tell Rajesh about this ? .'' Sameer told him that he told Rajesh in the Valasaravakkam Main Park. 

A few days later Inspector Vikram went to Sameer's house and told him that Mallya a small time thief was the culprit behind this theft.When Sameer asked him how, he replied '' I went to the Valasaravakkam main park and checked the CCTV footages of 15th July 6 pm and identified you both. After a minute I saw someone following you and Rajesh wherever you both went. When I looked at that person closely I recognised him that he was Mallya .

Mallya was arrested a few years ago for robbing a Bank with three other people. Perhaps they are his friends. So I guessed that he was the thief. I went to his area and inquired him about this theft. Obviously he denied that he robbed your house. So I went to the three friends' house and when I asked them the same, they tried to escape from me but they were caught. I took them to the police station and they received a sound thrashing after which they bluttered the truth. With this evidence I arrested Mallya and his three friends.'' Saying so Inspector  gave me my laptop, my cheque leaves, and my watch.I thanked him heartfully and returned to my work. All was well again.
